Description |
Female doll wearing a blue, floral print dress. The dress has a drop waist and there is some pleating along the lower edge. Red trim and pink rickrack are used as decoration along the waist and lower edge of the dress. The dress has a hood which is trimmed with brown and grey fur. A different brown and grey fur is used as trim on the sleeve cuffs. The doll's face is made from nylon with the features stitched with black and pink thread. The nose is formed separately. Her hair is made from black yarn. She is wearing turquoise felt mittens with green felt thumbs. The mittens are attached with a rope made from red, pink, blue and black yarn braided together. The rope loops around the doll's neck and there are tassels at intervals. Under the dress, the doll is wearing a petticoat made from a navy fabric with a brown fur trim. She is wearing grey fabric pants or leggings. On her feet are mukluks with fur uppers and leather soles. There is some decorative stitching done with purple thread on the top of each boot. Each boot is trimmed with a length of the same braided yarn that is attached to the mittens. There is a sticker on the bottom of the left boot. It has an igloo in the centre with "NS17/Canada/eskimo/art/esquimau" printed around it. |
