History |
Sarah Fehrenbach (1867-1935) is listed as a milliner in the 1911 census. She was a daughter of Joseph Fehrenbach (1843-1893) and Anna Lauber (1849-1925). In the early 1920s, Elizabeth Berlet (1887-1980) joined the business and the two women operated Fehrenbach-Berlet until Sarah's death in 1935. Elizabeth was a daughter of Berlin/Kitchener tailor, Valentine R. Berlet (1858-1933) and Maria Spahr (1861-1915). Elizabeth continued to operate the business until the late 1950s. The business was located at 28 Queen Street South in the 1920s and at 46 Queen Street South in the 1930s. Elizabeth moved the business to Waterloo after Sarah's passing. |
