Description |
A silver medal in the shape of a six-pointed star. In the centre of the star is the Royal Cypher GRJ VI with "THE FRANCE AND GERMANY STAR" written below. The reverse is blank. A suspension ring is attached to the uppermost point of the star. A second metal ring is attached to the first. A length of ribbon is attached to the second ring. It is 3.4 cm wide and consists of five stripes of equal width: blue, white, red (centre), white, blue. The colours represent the Union flag, those of France and the Netherlands but not of Belgium. |

History |
The France and Germany Star was awarded for one day or more of service in France, Belgium, Holland or Germany between June 6, 1944 and May 8, 1945. 230, 000 stars were awarded to Canadians. A paper label with the medal states that it was issued to Maj. H. Denis-Nathan, E.D. |
