History |
Celia Perrin (1879-1961) was the daughter of Joseph Perrin (1849-1932) and Elizabeth Willits (1849-1936) from Roseville, ON. In 1900, Celia married George Keyes (1865-1944), son of John and Catherine Keyes of Strathroy, ON. Celia and George lived at 30 Colborne Street in Galt, and had one daughter, Mildred Keyes (1903-1986). In 1924, Mildred married Carl Uebele (1892-1979), son of William Uebele (1852-1933) and Louisa Roser (1874-1968) of Waterloo, ON. The buttons were to commemorate the first visit of the Prince of Wales, Edward VIII (1894-1972), to Canada in 1919. Edward's tour lasted from August 11 to November 10, and during this visit he laid the cornerstone for the Peace Tower of the new Parliament building in Ottawa, opened the Quebec Bridge, and travelled across the country. The James Morrison Brass Manufacturing Company was located in Toronto, ON. |
