History |
Anna Rothaermel Cairnes (1866-1932) operated an art studio from around 1911 until her passing in 1932. The studio was initially located at 210 Weber Chambers and then at her home at 60 Ellen Street East in Berlin/Kitchener. She taught and created painted china, oil and watercolour paintings, and painted fabrics. Anna was a daughter of Wilhelm Rothaermel (1822-1888) and Catharina Klein (1827-1914). She was married twice; first to Hugh Cuthbertson (1888-?) and then to William Cairnes (1865-1942) in 1894. Anna had two sons, one by each of her husbands. |
