Description |
Small female doll wearing a fur parka. The parka is made from dark brown fur with a white fur trim along the lower edge. The collar and outer edge of the trim of the hood is made from a cream coloured fur with dark brown ends. The inner trim of the hood is made from a thick, brown fur. The doll's face is carved from wood with the features created from black paint. The doll's mouth is open and the teeth are visible. The teeth may be made from ivory or mother of pearl and are inserted into the wood. The hair is made from grey wool and is braided on either side of the face. The doll is wearing light coloured, smoked hide mittens and boot soles. The fur trim on the boots is similar to the fur used on the inner trim of the hood. The top of each boot is made from sealskin. Artist's name is handwritten in blue ink on the inside of the lower edge of the parka. |
