Description |
Redware storage crock with simple, everted, flat-topped rim. Sides are bulbous (convex) from rim, tapering in towards base. There is an incised circumferential line just below rim. Translucent lead glaze with added metallic oxides (probably copper and iron) producing a variegated green and yellow-brown colour with dark brown specks, on all surfaces except top edge of rim and bottom exterior which are unglazed. No glaze on the top edge of the rim. |
