Description |
Woman seated on a length of antler with two babies. The woman is wearing smoked hide leggings and parka. The parka has a large hood and the interior is lined with a light grey seal fur. The edge is trimmed with a dark brown fur. The lower edge of the parka has a black suede border. The parka cuffs are lined with light grey seal fur, and the woman is wearing light coloured leather mittens. Her face is made from the same light coloured leather with the features stitched with black thread. Her hair is made from the same dark brown fur as on the hood. She is wearing black leather boots trimmed with light grey seal fur. There is a patch of black suede on the top of the foot of each boot. A smoked hide pouch is over her left shoulder. She is holding one baby in her arms; the other is in her hood. Each baby has a body made from blue calico, and each one is in a soft, hide wrap. Their faces are made from the same hide with the features stitched with black thread. Their hair is made from black wool. Handwritten in red ink on the left side of the antler is "E8-1374/"87"". |
