History |
The Preston Municipal Building was built in 1966 to house the municipal council, police force, and fire department. The old town hall was built in 1878 and torn down in 1965. The building has two cornerstones - one from the original town hall which serves as a base for the old fire bell. The new cornerstone was laid with a time capsule. As of 2012, the building is still part of the Cambridge Fire Department as Station #3. Harry Halberstadt was mayor of Preston from 1965 to 1969. |
