Description |
Watercolour painting entitled "North Dickson Street, Galt". Painting is a street scene with the old Galt Town Hall/Cambridge City Hall building as the third building on the left. The Cambridge Farmer's Market building is visible in the background. The other two buildings are unidentified. Sidewalks and streetlights are also visible. Artist's signature "Bill Schwarz" on the lower right side. The painting has a double mat; inner matboard is beige, outer is cream coloured. Plexiglass glazing. Brushed aluminium frame. Reverse is backed with white foamcore. A biography and caricature of the artist is adhered to the backing. Metal clips on each side of the frame with a length of picture wire attached. |

History |
Bill Schwarz is a lawyer and artist from Cambridge, ON. He is one of the founding partners in the law firm Pettitt Schwarz, located at 403-73 Water St. North in Cambridge. The firm was started January 7, 1970 by Bill and his law partner Bob Pettitt. Bill and his wife Nancy Schwarz are owners of the KirkwoodWagner Gallery located at 11 Thorne Street in Cambridge. Both of them are artists who show and sell their work through the gallery. |
