Description |
Figure wearing a long, shiny purple parka. The parka has a hood which is trimmed with light brown fur. Pale purple rickrack has been used as trim along the lower edge of the parka and the sleeve cuffs. The figure has seal fur mittens which are removable. The mittens are attached by a length of braided brown, pink, and burgundy yarn that loops around the doll's neck. There are tassels on the mittens and shoulders of the parka. The doll's hands are made from brown fabric. The face is made from white fabric with the features stitched with black thread. The nose is formed separately. The doll's hair is made from strips of black satin fabric. The doll is wearing a white duffel shirt underneath the parka. The shirt is trimmed with light brown fur. The doll is wearing navy blue, shiny pants and beige canvas mukluks. The soles of the boots are made from smoked hide. A leather strap is tied around each ankle area. The uppers are trimmed with blue and white, floral patterned ribbon. A flower has been embroidered on the top of each boot in burgundy thread. There are two stickers on the bottom of the right boot. One is square with an igloo in the centre. Printed around the igloo is "NS17/canada/eskimo/art/esquimau/3". The second sticker is rectangular with "Carving Number" printed along the upper edge. "8420-498A" is handwritten below in black ink. |
