History |
The Conestoga Motel was built by John Joseph (1920-2006) and Therese Hoffman in 1956. They sold the business in 1974 and presumably the name was changed to the Conestoga Inn after the sale. As of 2012, the former Conestoga Inn is now the Howard Johnson Hotel on Weber Street East in Kitchener, ON. Strike Rite Matches Limited was formed in 1939 in London, ON. The company was sold to the Maryland Match Company in 1959 but continued operations under the original name. The company closed in 1988. |
