Description |
Package of tacks. The plastic covering is missing. The tacks are metal with the heads painted red. The tacks are pushed into a rectangular piece of cardboard that has also been painted red. There are 36 tacks arranged in four rows of nine. There is a hole in the cardboard backing centred along the upper edge. |

History |
The Dominion Tack and Nail Company was established in the early 1900s as a partnership between George Hancock Junior and John Eatough in Galt, ON. The company manufactured tacks and nails for the domestic shoe and hardware industries. At some point in its history, the company name was changed to Canadian Tack and Nail. As of 2012, the company is still in operation at its original location - 431 Dundas Street, Cambridge. The company produces and distributes specialty tacks and nails for the marine, furniture, electrical and construction industries. |
