History |
Erwin (Ervin?) Shantz was one of four brothers (Levi, Orvie, Elam) who were born in the early 1900's in the Wiesles House at Lexington. Following Frederick Hoffman in design they carved a number of brackets and combs between the 1920s and 1940s. They also used the notch carving technique and radiating stars and horseshoe motifs. |
