History |
David Brand (1854-1931) was a son of David Brand (1830-1910) and Catherine Hartung (1833-?) from Germany. They immigrated to Canada around 1860, settling in Wilmot Township. David married Christina Eidt (1859-1952), daughter of Ludwig Eidt (1837-1890) and Maria Ratz (1840-1923) also from Wilmot Township, in 1880. David spent 40 years as an Evangelical minister and was stationed mostly in southwestern Ontario. After his retirement, he and Christina lived in New Hamburg. They had six children together - Edward (1883-?), Clara (1885-1894), Ezra (1888-1973), Evelyn (1890-?), Edna (1892-?), and Clarence (1903-?). |
