Description |
Trade catalogue with the exterior cover made from a heavy, coated paper. The exterior cover and interior pages are stapled together in the centre of the catalogue. The front cover has a graphic in orange, grey, black, white, and beige that is divided into four sections. The Fire-Co logo is the in the lower right corner. In the upper right corner is a couple seated at the breakfast table; in the upper left corner is a cook stove; and in the lower left corner is a woman in an apron cooking on a stove. The interior pages contain information on and images of the various stoves and heaters manufactured by the Hall Zryd Foundry Company under the Fire-Co brand. The interior pages are printed in black, white, and red. Printed on the back cover in the lower right corner is "Produced By/Commerical Engravers Limited/Hamilton, Canada". Some mathematical equations are also written in pencil on the back cover. |

History |
Zarariah Hall (1866-1952) and Oscar Zryd (1873-1936) purchased the Parker Steel Range Company Limited in Windsor, ON in 1904. They moved the company to Grimsby, ON in 1907 and renamed it the Hall Zryd Foundry Company Limited. In 1909, they moved the company to Hespeler, ON. The company manufactured stoves and ranges under the "Pilot" brand name until the late 1940s. The foundry was located at 95-102 Sheffield Street in Cambridge, and was destroyed by fire on September 15, 1950. Zarariah Hall was also heavily involved in local politics. He was on Preston council and was MPP from 1914 to 1919. |
