Description |
Receipt is a pre-printed form with red lettering on a brown paper. The title is printed across the upper portion of the receipt with "96 Church Street" and "Phone 2060" printed above. Printed below the title is "Wholesale and Retail/Milk, Cream, Butter, Ice Cream". Stamped in purple ink along the upper edge of the receipt is "ICCH-3.90 0132 Jul-0-2". There is a stamp of a hand in black ink with the index pointing to the right on the upper left side. Below the title are spaces for the date, and the customer's name and address. Receipt is addressed to "Mr. Donald". The remainder of the receipt are rows and columns for recording the purchases. Handwritten in pencil on the first row is "3 gals ice cream" with the price of "3.90". "Paid" is also handwritten on the receipt. Printed along the lower edge is "Printed figures at top of slip show amount paid or charged/Press of the National Cash Register Co., Dayton, Ohio". "4" is stamped in black ink along the lower edge. The reverse is blank. |

Aaron S. Shoemaker (1871-1928) operated a dairy in Berlin, ON from around 1915 until his passing in 1928. The dairy was known as Fairview Farm Dairy and Shoemaker's Dairy. It was located at 96 Church Street. |
