Description |
Handbill is printed on a single sheet of cream coloured paper. There is a black and white image of a cooking range in the upper left corner. The title is printed to the right of the image. Printed below are specifications about the range. In the centre of the handbill is printed "Air-Conditioning and Humidification/Now-a-days, we read and hear a great deal about Air-Conditioning and Humidification, much of which is absolutely correct in both theory and practice....". The handbill then explains how this range helps with both heating and humidfication in the home. Printed in large black letters along the lower edge is "The Hall Foundry Co. Limited/Hespeler, Ontario". "120.00" is handwritten in pencil in the lower left corner. The reverse is blank. |

History |
Zarariah Hall (1866-1952) and Oscar Zryd (1873-1936) purchased the Parker Steel Range Company Limited in Windsor, ON in 1904. They moved the company to Grimsby, ON in 1907 and renamed it the Hall Zryd Foundry Company Limited. In 1909, they moved the company to Hespeler, ON. The company manufactured stoves and ranges under the "Pilot" brand name until the late 1940s. The foundry was located at 95-102 Sheffield Street in Cambridge, and was destroyed by fire on September 15, 1950. Zarariah Hall was also heavily involved in local politics. He was on Preston council and was MPP from 1914 to 1919. |
