In 1938, the company moved to Dolph Street in Preston, and changed its name to Butler Stampings & Machine Screws Limited. During the Second World War, the company concentrated on war orders for General Motors and produced stamped metal parts for army vehicles. In 1949, the company was purchased by Mindustrial Corporation Limited and the name was changed to Butler Metal Products. In the early 1970s, the company developed a process for stamping thermoplastic materials. As of 2012, the company is still in operation and produces stamped metal and assembled parts to North American auto makers. |
